Abstract
新加坡邻里中学差生所面临的二语教学问题是多方面的,本文所讨论的主要是教导新加坡邻里中学差生的二语口语教学问题及其解决对策。主要原因是,就语言交际的角度看,听说技能的培养更为基础,更为重要。对于二语学习者,尤其是程度较弱的学习者,提升口语表达能力是面临的最直接,最现实问题。
本文首先透过观察、访谈具体了解和确定目前新加坡华文差生所面临的二语口语教学问题。接着,笔者提出三种具有相当可行性、系统性的教学策略,以期改进口语教学,提高学生的华文口语表达能力。
本文透过教学实验观察和分析来讨论三种教学策略的有效性;通过教学实验中前后测成绩对比与设定两组对照组进行横向、纵向之对比,以确定何种策略能更为有效地提升华文差生的二语口试成绩。
研究结果显示,经由电脑软体辅助口语教学与小组合作学习方式,让学生重复练习口试话题与朗读绘本故事,能有效地提高中学华文差生的二语口语能力。
以往的一些相关研究主要采取定性研究,此次笔者在研究过程中,采取了定性和定量相结合的方法,在一定程度上大大提高了研究的信度和效度。

The problems which the neighbourhood schools in Singapore face in teaching the weaker students in learning Chinese as a second language is multi-faceted. This dissertation focuses mainly on the problems faced by the neighbourhood schools in Singapore in teaching oral communication skills to the weaker students and the strategies in solving the problems. From the communicative point of view, cultivating listening and oral communications skills is of intmost important. This is especially so far second language learners.
First, the author made observations, carried out interviews to understand the problems faced by weak students from neighbourhood schools in Singapore in the learning of Chinese Language. Second, the author proposed three scientific and systematic teaching strategies with the hope of improving the pedagogy in teaching oral communication skills, thereby enhancing the oral communication skills of Chinese Language learners.
The thesis discusses the efficiency of the three strategies in teaching by the experimental observation and analysis in teaching; the author presented the detailed analysis of pre-lesson test results and post-lesson test results with the aim of identifying the most effective strategy out of the three proposed strategies in improving the oral communication skills of the weaker students.
Research findings showed that using the information technology to complementearning; repetitive drilling of oral examination topics through group co-operative and the reading of picture books are effective in improving the oracy of weaker learners of the Chinese Language.
In the past, similar researches were carried out using mostly qualitative methods. The author has decided to encompass both the qualitative and quantitative methods, in order to increase the reliability and the effectiveness of her dissertation.
