Abstract
This study seeks to assess the perceptions of the classroom learning environment for Project Work for 68 Secondary Two Express stream pupils. The learning environment is unique in this study as it comprises of the regular classroom in which pupils work in groups in a face-to-face setting, as well as an online technology-mediated platform where pupils collaborated with overseas team mates on the project. To measure the pupils’ perceptions of such a distinctive environment, a new learning environment questionnaire was created. An attitude instrument was also developed to capture pupils’ attitudes towards Project Work. The gender differences in the perceptions of the environment were explored and the associations between the pupils’ environmental perceptions and their attitudinal outcomes were investigated.
