Abstract: 
As part of the International Project on Mathematical Attainment (IPMA), complete cohort of Primary 1 pupils in three schools were given three thinking tasks to do. The tasks required pupils to use skills such as comparing, sequencing and identifying patterns and relationships. These are three out of the eight core thinking skills selected for primary mathematics. In this paper, the presenters will share with the participants the performance of the pupils on these tasks.
