Abstract: | Asas 50 yang ditubuhkan para sasterawan muda Angkatan 50-an meneruskan usaha memperkembangkan kesusasteraan dan sepanjang hayatnya, telah melalui tiga zaman pemikiran. Asas 50 was formed by a group of writers in the early 50s and continues in the development of Malay literature and throughout Asas 50's lifetime, it has been through three different times of changes of thought (British colonialisation, self-government with Malaysia, independence). And having received positive cooperation from the Singapore Malay Language Council (MBMS), Asas 50 is proud to organise the youth writing workshop. With the cooperation and strong support from MBMS, the writing workshop will then enable Singapore to have a strong Malay language literary culture that is equivalent to the global literary culture. There is a need for insightful writers who are creative with ideas. The writer who tries, wait and watch, then stop and do not write again, no longer fits with the age of internet. The speaker concluded the speech by expressing his appreciation to honourable guests, workshop facilitators from Kuala Lumpur, local speakers and sponsors. |
