Sekelumit pengalaman Angkatan Sasterawan '50 [A brief history of Angkatan Sasterawan '50]

Abstract

Ucapan ini merupakan petikan daripada cenderamata pameran Asas 50. Ia merupakan sekelumit pengalaman Asas 50 daripada sudut penulis pada awal penubuhan Asas 50. Penulis memegang jawatan sebagai Setiausaha Pengasas dan kemudian menjadi Ketua Satu Asas 50. Ucapan adalah mengenai perjalanan penubuhan Asas 50 yang bermula daripada keinginan untuk menyatukan penulis-penulis tanah air pada masa itu, iaitu merangkumi seluruh negeri di Tanah Melayu, Singapura dan Brunei. Penulis juga mengongsikan pengaruh dan pengalamannya hinggakan pertemuannya dengan rakan-rakan penulis di mana niat untuk menubuhkan Asas 50 disuarakan. Ucapan ini juga menyenaraikan nama-nama pengasas Asas 50. Maka Asas 50 terdaftarlah sebagai sebuah pertubuhan pada 22hb Jun 1951. Jikalau hendak dibincangkan segala suka duka dan perjalanan Asas 50, banyak lagi muka surat yang diperlukan untuk menulisnya dan ucapan ini hanyalah sekadar mengisi cenderamata ini. <br>

The speech is taken out from the printed souvenir for Asas 50 exhibition. It is about a piece of history of Asas 50 from the writer's perspective from the early formation of Asas 50. The writer first held the post of secretariat among the founding members and later became the head of Asas 50. The writer shares the journey of Asas 50 beginning from the desire to unite the writers of the land at that time which includes all the states in Malaya, Singapore and Brunei. The writer also shares some of his influences and experiences till the meeting of fellow writers on the forming of Asas 50. The speech also lists the names of the founding members of Asas 50 and till it was registered as an organisation on 22nd June 1951. If he were to discuss the trials and tribulations of Asas 50, then there will be many pages needed for writing and this greeting is as an introduction in this souvenir.
