Abstract: | In an attempt to develop resource materials in career guidance, a research team from the Institute of Education tested out the validity of John Holland's Personality Typology theory in the multicultural environment of Singapore before embarking on the development of an indigenous assessment instrument called the Career Profile Inventory. This paper gives the background information and theoretical framework of the research project, gives details of the validation exercise, traces the development of the Career Profile Inventory and presents some preliminary findings. |
