This exploratory study reviewed the literature on the educational and well-being benefits of being in nature, and in wild habitats and discussed the implications of findings to learning, teaching and curriculum development in Singapore. The study also reviewed the status of outdoor and environmental education in Singapore and its place in curriculum, and identified possible gaps. Lastly, this study investigated the qualities, knowledge and skills of master nature educators. The nine in-depth interviews of master nature educators and subsequent qualitative analyses revealed our first glimpse into the thoughts and actions of master nature educators in their quest to create awareness and appreciation among our public about our biodiversity and wild habitats. Implications for the implementation of our national outdoor education plan were discussed.en
