Abstract
This study measured 158 female students’ views about Physics and learning Physics using the Colorado Learning Attitudes about Science Survey (CLASS) before and after they have attended one semester of Physics lessons. The results showed that there is a difference between students’ views compared with those of the experts. After one semester of instruction, there was a significant negative shift in students’ views in “overall” and four other categories. High ability students hold significantly different views about Physics compared with the low ability students for all CLASS categories. Post instruction showed no significant shift in the views of the high ability students, but the low ability students showed a significant negative shift in five CLASS categories, including “overall”.
