Abstract
This paper explores the potential for using oral history in teaching secondary Social Studies. The use of existing oral history recordings and oral history projects has the potential to engage students emotionally as well as build critical thinking and research skills. The Singapore National Archives'
oral records remain one of the less explored avenues for teaching about Singapore's post-independence economic and social development. This paper argues for an active engagement with oral history to enhance the learning of Social Studies.
