Abstract
Ucapan ini mengenai akal sebagi kurniaan Allah SWT untuk memproses, mengukur, menimbang dan menilai sesuatu yang berkaitan dengan kehidupan manusia. Ketidaksesuaian penggunaan akal boleh menyebabkan orang yang punya akal itu menjadi gila. Penyampai merujuk pada majlis sambutan maulud pada 16 Februari di mana ucapan Presiden MUIS pada masa itu supaya umat Islam 'bersederhana dalam segala hal' dan menerangkan "....orang-orang yang cuba beramal melampaui batas yang disuruh, paling ringgan akan disinggahi apa yang disebut 'gila-ism'".
The speaker talks about the intellect as a gift of Allah SWT to process and evaluate things in relation to the human life. The abuse of intellect may cause the person to go insane. The speaker took reference from the recent Maulud celebration in which a speech which was given by the President of MUIS encouraged Muslims 'to be modest in all things' and explained ".... people, who try to do more than what they are capable of may be labelled as fanatics (gila-ism).
