Abstract
This paper presents the findings based on an extensive survey of Singaporean adolescents. It examines the behavioral problems of Singapore youth according to school misconduct, antisocial acts, and substance abuse. Differences according to gender and school types are also presented. In addition, it discusses the relationship between problem behaviors and adolescents’ relationship with fathers and mothers. The findings indicate that behavioral problems was significantly linked to parenting behaviors with stronger correlation with fathers’ parenting behaviors.
