Abstract
Singapore’s education system has long operated under the dual system where mainstream and special schools remain separate. However, when students with special educational needs (SEN) attend mainstream schools, teachers struggle to cater to their needs as well as their typical developing pupils. This paper seeks to discuss inclusive strategies for the music classroom for students with ASD internationally and how they may be adapted for the Singapore classrooms as well as other factors these strategies are contingent upon for the full and successful integration of students with ASD in mainstream school music classes.
