Paper presented at the 5th Redesigning Pedagogy International Conference, Singapore, 3 - 5 June 2013
Abstract:
The concept of engagement has attracted increasing attention recently as a topic in research attempting
to identify the factors that enhance academic achievement and resilience. Despite the increasing
interest in the concept, consensus about its conceptual and operational definitions has not been
achieved yet due to interrelated conceptual and methodological issues. Given that engagement is a
potentially important and useful construct, it is critical to address the issues.
