Abstract
The screening process is an important step in the diagnostic procedure and family and school play an important role. Teachers' reports of the child's social and behavioral patterns are often useful and reliable because they make it possible to compare and follow up children's development within their normative peer group from a professional point of view (Morales, Domenech-Llaberia, Jane, & Canals, 2013). However, there are limited tools developed for preschool teachers to aid them in identifying these children with possible ASD. This suggests a missed opportunity in the screening process. If a student has not been identified before he/she enters preschool, it is essential for preschool personnel to be keen to the signs of ASD and use effective tools for screening when concerns arise (Schanding, Nowell, & Goin-Kochel, 2011).
