Abstract
This research paper examines the challenges of Primary 1 foreign students faces in learning and speaking mandarin. It zooms into the current Singapore curriculum and with the aid of other resources that are used to teach foreign students’ Chinese language. With the relevant findings, a proposed instructional material is designed to help Primary 1 foreign students in the learning and speaking the language. These materials are carefully designed to align with the Singapore’s MOE Chinese syllabus and curriculum in order give students a good heads up while attending the mainstream lessons.
