Abstract
Since the launch of the IT Masterplan in Singapore in 1996, the use of Information Technology (IT) as a teaching tool in the primary schools has become more evident. The sudden increase in demand for educational software has initiated profit-motivated entrepreneurs to design attractive CD ROMs and websites that lack pedagogical depth. In this study, I hope to design an evaluation from structured on the ARCS Model of Motivation to evaluate the motivational aspects of educational CD ROMs and websites so that teachers can make use of when answering the question, “Is this CD ROM title and website suitable for my audience?” and not to be overwhelmed by the technology used. It is only when the teacher evaluates the CD ROM or website in depth, that learning will be more meaningful for the learners. The title of this evaluation form is “Motivational Software Evaluation Form”.
