Abstract
Differences in a sample of Singaporean youths’ Facebook usage levels were examined against various psychosocial measures such as basic needs satisfaction, social anxiety, depression, peer support, loneliness, pathological internet use, with gender and age groups also taken into account. Positive as well as negative aspects of Facebook usage were found. Age as well as different levels of Facebook had differing impacts on reported Social Anxiety symptoms. Higher Facebook usage correlated with higher Depression symptoms and higher Pathological Internet Use symptoms.
